The Fenix already gives you three movable perimeter grills and a central fire pit generating coals. The Asado Basket gives you the fourth cooking position — the one that works by radiant heat instead of conduction.

It is a stainless steel clamping basket on a movable arm that mounts to the Fenix perimeter and angles in over the central fire. Food is held upright beside the fire rather than above it, which is how an Argentinian asador cooks: slowly, evenly, with the fat rendering down the face of the meat instead of dripping into the coals and flaring. Reposition the arm around the ring to follow the fire as your coals shift — distance from the flame is your temperature control.

Why stainless matters here. Most asado crosses and baskets on the market are mild steel under high-temperature paint, and that paint is the surface touching your food. Ours is bare stainless. Nothing to burn off, nothing to reapply, and you can take a wire brush to it after a long cook without stripping a finish.

What you'll cook: butterflied lamb, racks of ribs, spatchcocked chickens, whole fish, halloumi and vegetables that would drop through a grate.

Fits: The Fenix. Mounts to the existing perimeter — there is no separate base or stand to buy, because you already own it.
